Dr. Fred H. Albee came to Venice-Nokomis, Florida following a brilliant service with the medical corps during World War I, where he first came into prominence in his profession with his miraculous surgical rebuilding of shattered bodies. He began the Florida Medical Center in the Parkview Hotel, which was a roomy and sprawling Spanish-Mediterranean building with many rooms.
The Dr. Fred H. Albee collection consists of press releases, Florida Medical Center information, guest books, scrapbooks, correspondence, photos, postcards, newspaper clippings, and Orthopedic books. 1911-1970s. Some material was collected after Dr. Fred Albee's death.
